Dr. Asim Piracha, a partner at John-Kenyon American Eye Institute, is a Cornea Trained, Cataract and Refractive Surgery Specialist. A recognized leader in his field, Dr. Piracha is a regular lecturer at national conferences, trains surgeons worldwide on advanced surgical equipment such as the IntraLase and Alegretto Wave laser, and is the president-elect of the American Board of Eye Surgery. He also completed one of the country’s most prestigious corneal and refractive surgery fellowship programs at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis where he earned the honor of Fellow in Cornea, Refractive, External Diseases and Anterior Segment Surgery.
Dr. Piracha graduated from the West Virginia School of Medicine with top honors and completed a highly-specialized residency at the University of Kentucky, where he was selected by his peers as chief resident in ophthalmology. He currently teaches residents at the University of Louisville Hospital and was recently named to the esteemed “40 Under 40” list by Business First of Louisville. Dr. Piracha is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Ophthalmology, as well as being a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the International Society of Refractive Surgery.
