Physicians: Dr. Timothy E. Schmitt

Dr. Timothy Schmitt is a specialist in eye disease and cataract and refractive surgery. He is among the most experienced refractive surgeons in the region with over 20,000 refractive procedures performed, and was one of the first eye surgeons in the Louisville area to offer LASIK. In addition to his work at the John-Kenyon American Eye Center, Dr. Schmitt is also a staff member at Floyd Memorial Hospital and Health Services in New Albany, Indiana.

Dr. Schmitt is a graduate of the University of Purdue and the Indiana University Medical School. He interned at St. Vincent's Hospital and served his residency at Indiana University Medical School. Dr. Schmitt is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is also a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Board of Eye Surgery, Indiana State Medical Association, International Society of Refractive Surgery, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and numerous other professional medical associations.
