Recently, John-Kenyon added Dr. Finch O.D. Medical Optometrist; Dr. Percal O.D. as a Resident Medical Optometrist; Dr. Rahman M.D. as a Cataract and Glaucoma Surgeon, who officially joins the team today.
Dr. Rahman is a Glaucoma and Cataract specialist. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Northwestern University along with his Medical Degree from Northwestern University, Feinberg School of Medicine as a part of the seven-year Honors Program in Medical Education. He then continued his time at Northwestern University, McGaw Medical Center, where he served as chief resident.
Dr. Rahman joins John-Kenyon from Harvard University’s Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary where he completed his Surgical Glaucoma Fellowship. His diverse experience varies from clinics in Chicago to taking an International Surgical Elective at the Grewal Eye Institute in Chandigarh, India. Dr. Rahman grew up in Jeffersonville, Indiana so this opportunity brought him back to his hometown.
“It is with great excitement that I get to come back home to Southern Indiana and join the talented medical and surgical team at John-Kenyon.” Dr. Rahman said.
Another addition to the John-Kenyon team is, Dr. Finch, O.D. she has joined the team as a medical optometrist, after recently completing her residency there. Dr. Finch provides medical eye care, specializing in disease management with an emphasis on post-operative care for refractive procedures and cataract surgeries. Before beginning her medical optometrist residency, she received her Doctorate of Optometry from Indiana University School of Optometry, where she was an Associate Instructor as the Secretary of the Optometric Student Association. Dr. Finch worked at John-Kenyon for a year post-graduation learning about eye disease and awaiting her admittance to their Medical Residency Program. She is also a member of the Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society.
Dr. Percal, O.D. is John-Kenyon’s newest resident. Dr. Percal received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Purdue University in 2012 and then went on to the Indiana University School of Optometry, where she was an Associate Instructor. She then received her Doctorate of Optometry in 2016. Dr. Percal is also a Jeffersonville, Indiana native, who has experience with John-Kenyon, because it was one of her clinical rotations in the summer of 2015.
The growth of the John-Kenyon team will help to assure their continued goal of providing excellence in medical and surgical eye care throughout Louisville, Central Kentucky and Southern Indiana.
