Sofia Braunstein O.D. joined John-Kenyon Eye Center as a resident optometrist to pursue her post-doctoral training in the area of ocular disease. Sofia is originally from Seattle, Washington, having spent time studying at the University of Washington she traveled to Florida to continue her education. She received her Bachelor's in vision science and Doctorate of Optometry at Nova Southeastern University.
During her time at NSU, Sofia traveled to Costa Rica for a humanitarian trip and participated in eye care at the Special Olympics in Orlando. In her final year, she completed rotations at the Yukon-Kuksokwim Health Corporation in remote Bethel, Alaska, Envirsion Eyecare FL, and Bracerman Eye centers FL.
In her spare time, Sofia enjoys exploring national parks, long-boarding, crafting, and spending time with friends and family.
